Personal Journals

President Kimball’s address about keeping a personal journal has had a deep impact upon me from my youth.

Just yesterday, as I prepared a map and compass course for scouts, I was reminded that I have learned that the “Sunday school answers” like keeping the Sabbath day holy and attending church, praying, being temple worthy, scripture study provide thethe quarter, half, and 5 and 10 point marks on our personal compass of revelation. But a journal, recording the revelation I have received to solve my problems, tunes our compass and provides the 1 minute marks, helping to guide our lives though problems and obstacles more cleanly and efficiently with each passing year.

I’m grateful for President Kimball’s counsel to me on the importance of keeping a journal. #lds#mormonism #journals #personalhistory
